We Live in a Beautiful World
And Kansas is a beautiful state. But it could still be an even better place to live.
Imagine what it would be like if every Kansan was assured access to a doctor's care regardless of their ability to pay for it. And what if every person in Kansas - not just the rich - had the opportunity to get a college degree and pursue their life's calling? What if every worker in Kansas had the assurance of a safe place to work, a say in what they were paid, and the ability to retire with a decent pension? Imagine every Kansas parent having access to safe, affordable daycare for their children. Envision a state government that pursues the production of renewable energy sources, provides adequate public transportation, and vigorously protects our environment.
That's the kind of world the Socialist Party envisions.
Ours is a party that works for peace, social and economic justice, and good stewardship of the environment. We are committed to bringing about a better world - a more beautiful world - and a society in which the commanding value is the infinite preciousness of every man, woman, and child.
We are not naive. We are well aware of the fact that we live in a country dominated by two parties, both of which are controlled by multinational corporations with vast sums of money to mold public policy in their image. But our ultimate fight, as Socialists, depends on the belief that the power of the working class can be greater than that of the multinational corporations. We believe the collective voice of the the workers, the family farmers, and the students of Kansas can overpower the elite few who currently enjoy the audience of the two major parties. Some call us dreamers. But as Socialists, we act on our dreams.
